State Sen. Karen Spilka, D-Ashland, chairman of the state’s joint committee on economic development and emerging technologies, will host a meeting at Framingham State College on Tuesday to get reaction from business leaders to economic development legislation being considered on Beacon Hill.
Spilka recently co-sponsored a bill with Sen. President Therese Murray, D-Plymouth, that would centralize the state’s tourism, marketing and business development offices and create regional economic development organizations. Part of the proposal would also create a MetroWest Tourism and Visitors Bureau.
The meeting will be at the college’s McCarthy College Center at 100 State Street from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
