Hiring among business with 20 or fewer employees increased by 0.7 percent in Massachusetts this month, according to Intuit Payroll‘s November Small Business Employment Index.
Nationally, 49,000 new jobs were created by small businesses during the month.
However, small business employees saw their pay decline 0.3 percent. Monthly compensation ended November at $2,592 compared to $2,600 the previous month.
That works out to an average of $31,000 per year.
Small business employees worked 105.9 hours in November, the same as in October.
