The nation’s productivity increased at a 2.3 percent annual rate during the third quarter compared to the previous quarter, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Workers increased output 3.7 percent while increasing hours worked by 1.4 percent.
Compared to the same period a year ago, productivity increased 2.5 percent on output that rose 4.3 percent and hours worked that increased 1.7 percent.
The bureau’s most recent productivity statistics are a revision of preliminary numbers it released last month.
