Students from Workers' Credit Union's Chelmsford and Acton High School branches took first and second place in the Massachusetts School Bank Association's recent competition. Spencer Savings Bank recently sponsored a Customer Appreciation Day in conjunction with Red Sox Opening Day. Employees raised more than $350 to benefit the Jimmy Fund. Westminster-based fire-safety company SimplexGrinnell has awarded the Greater Twin Cities United Way in Minnesota a $30,000 grant for a youth leadership program. The grant was made possible through employee contributions to United Way. SimplexGrinnell has a district office in Minneapolis, Minn. United Way plans to launch the school-based Youth Venture program in the fall.
