Panera Bread has signed a long-term lease to build a new restaurant in Webster's East Village Square, according to Auburn-based Galaxy Development LLC.
East Village Square is currently under construction. Once complete, it will be anchored by a Price Shopper grocery store. Panera will build a 4,200 square-foot bakery-café restaurant at the corner of the property, located at the intersection of routes 12 and 16.
East Village Square tenants are slated to open in May 2013, according to Galaxy.
"We have had significant tenant interest in the one (site)we had available in East Village Square, and we couldn't be happier than to team up with Panera Bread," said Michael O'Brien, principal of Galaxy Development.
Missouri-based Panera has nearly 1,600 locations throughout the U.S., according to the company website.
