Nichols College in Dudley has opened a student bar after a more than 20-year hiatus, the school announced Wednesday.
Dubbed the Bison Den, the facility is located at the Dudley Hill Golf Club and will eventually open to the general public. The bar had a soft opening on Tuesday.
“This is a historic occasion for the campus community, and especially for our students who have long sought a safe and convenient place where they can relax and socialize on the weekends,” said Glenn Sulmasy, the college’s president, in a statement.
In the lead-up to the Bison Den’s opening, the clubhouse underwent extensive renovations. The college bought the facility in 2018 after leasing it for 50 years between 1949 and 1999.
While Nichols said the bar would open to the general public in the near future, no date was specified.
The club has long served as home to the Nichols golf team.
