New City Microcreamery of Hudson began selling pints of ice cream at select Whole Foods Markets grocery stores in Massachusetts over Fourth of July Weekend, the company announced on Tuesday.
New City is run by Hudson entrepreneurs Karim El-Gamal, Michael Kasseris and Jason Kleinerman, the same trio behind pizzeria The Rail Trail Flatbread Co. and the bar Less Than Greater Than, both in Hudson. New City also has a Cambridge location, and Rail Trail has been exploring a Milford expansion.
New City said it was hand-picked by While Foods to sell its pints, which will come in seven different flavors.
“We are humbled to be able to partner with Whole Foods,” said Kleinerman, in a statement. "We love making the best ice cream we possibly can, and it’s exciting to have a platform to share our creations with more ice cream lovers.”
