A Papyrus greeting cards and stationery store in the Natick Mall will close, along with the rest of the chain's 254 stores.
The Natick Mall location is one of 10 Massachusetts locations for the Tennessee-based chain, which is part of Schurman Retail Group. The privately-held company, which also owns American Greetings, Carlton Cards, Niquea.d and Paper Destiny, filed for bankruptcy on Friday.
Schurman's other stores will also close.
Papyrus' closure is the latest in a wave of brick-and-mortar store closures nationally. In Central Massachusetts, closures announced in the last few months have included three A.C. Moore locations (Lincoln Plaza in Worcester, Shoppers World in Framingham, and Crossroads Shopping Center in Bellingham), two Sears (Auburn Mall and The Mall at Whitney Field in Leominster), and five Olympia Sports (Auburn Mall, Franklin Village Shopping Center, Timpany Plaza in Gardner, the Mall at Whitney Field and the Solomon Pond Mall in Marlborough).
