Movers & Shakers from the November 9, 2009 Issue

The Worcester-based law firm of Bowditch & Dewey LLP has hired three new lawyers: DEBRA T. HUANG, DANIEL J. LYNE and MATTHEW S. TISDALE. Huang is an associate in the litigation group with a focus on all aspects of civil litigation. Lyne joins the firm as a partner in the litigation group. Tisdale is an associate in the business and finance group, with a focus on representing financial and business institutions in corporate, lending and commercial transactions.

Beverly-based design consulting firm Meridian Associates has hired WAYNE A. KEEFNER as a senior project manager in its Westborough office. Keefner has more than 15 years of experience in project coordination, including planning, site layout and design and staff training.

The Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts recently elected DEBORAH C. PHILLIPS, of Fitchburg’s Nickless and Phillips law firm, as its chair for a one-year term. The organization also named CHARLES GELINAS of Gelinas & Ward LLC as vice chair, STEVEN L. STONE of Sterlite Corp. as treasurer, WILLIAM E. AUBUCHON III of W.E. Aubuchon Co. Inc. as clerk and PHILIP M. GRZEWINSKI of the United Way as president and recording secretary. KEVIN J. MILLER, GEORGE R. GANTZ, MARTIN F. CONNORS, RICHARD A. CELLA, CHARLES A. GELINAS, STEVEN L. STONE and RICHARD W. NOBILE were elected as trustees for three-year terms ending in 2012.

GEORGE CALIMERIS was named vice president and commercial loan officer of Millbury Savings Bank. He previously held senior-level positions at Strata Bank of Franklin, Millbury National Bank and Bank of America's small business division.

Ayer engineering and land survey firm Goldsmith, Prest & Ringwall Inc. has hired GEORGE A. CARPENTER as assistant vice president of marketing for the Ayer office. In his new position, Carpenter will market GPR’s services to commercial and industrial clients, developers and municipalities in Central Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire.

AspenCross Financial Group of Westborough has hired ROBERT VAN NORSTRAND JR. to lead the firm’s manpower development efforts as a senior vice president. Van Nostrand has worked in financial services for 25 years, including stints at Fortune 500 companies.

J. TERRY BAILEY, senior vice president of marketing and sales at Marlborough’s Evergreen Solar, has left the company, and his responsibilities are being handled temporarily by President and CEO RICHARD M. FELDT and CFO MICHAEL EL-HILLOW. Feldt is handling marketing and sales maters on an interim basis, and El-Hillow is taking on extra responsibilities for global operations and administration.

JEFFREY HALL, president of the Worcester Regional Association of Realtors, has joined Keller Williams Realty in the Greater Worcester Market Center. Hall previously worked for RE/MAX.

The Training Associates of Westborough has hired BRUCE BERFIELD as manager of business development. Berfield, a Milford resident, has more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing. In his new position, he will lead efforts to find new business for the company, which offers staffing and consulting services.

MARY HEAFY was named president and CEO of the Fitchburg-based Alliance for Resource Management. As the parent corporation for ARC Community Services and Matson Community Services, the organization serves almost 600 people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Central Massachusetts. Heafy was previously director of adult services at The United Arc in Greenfield.

International Computerware Inc. of Marlborough has hired two new employees, RYAN SHOOLTZ and MARK EWERT. Shooltz is now a technical solutions account manager for the company. He has worked in account management at Acronis Software and EMC. Ewert was hired as a principal solutions consultant. He has more than 25 years of experience in information technology and has concentrated on virtualization for almost 10 years.

Fallon Community Health Plan has appointed long-time employee LINDA M. AIELLO as director of member appeals and grievances. Aiello has worked for FCHP since 1983, and most recently was senior manager of member relations.

Auburn IT company Cinch It Inc. has promoted MIRAND LAMANI to executive vice president. Lamani has worked for the company for the past four years, most recently as director of engineering. In his new position, he manages the engineering group, helps set company goals and oversees projects.

TINA M. SBREGA, president and CEO of GFA Federal Credit Union in Gardner, has been appointed to the board of directors of Westborough-based Massachusetts Credit Union Share Insurance Corp.
