Title: Interim Executive Director
Company: Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce
Company location: Devens
Residence: Shirley
Career highlights:
Prior to my career at the chamber, I had been working in the banking industry for 10 years. While I enjoyed banking, it certainly wasn’t my passion and I knew I needed to connect with people more, so I volunteered for several chamber committees and after serving on the first annual Taste of Nashoba committee I was offered a position working for the chamber. It was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up as I really valued the relationships I developed there. I started as the assistant director and am currently serving as interim executive director.
Community involvement:
I have been involved as a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters in the Nashoba Valley for more than four years. I began as a Big Sister and eventually assumed more responsibility by joining the organization’s board of directors. I am currently awaiting another Little Sister match. I also volunteer at Loaves and Fishes, a local food pantry. I enjoy volunteering because it is important to give back. It feels good to be able to make a difference not just in the lives of individuals but in your community as well.
Biggest success:
The NVCOC has grown in stature and membership during my tenure and I am proud to have made a significant contribution to that.
Dream job:
To be the permanent executive director of the Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Businessperson she most admires and why:
As you can imagine in my role here at the chamber I’ve been influenced by many successful business leaders. I most admire a previous executive director that I worked for, Bonnie Biocchi. Bonnie always had confidence in me even when I doubted myself. Her confidence helped me grow not only in my role here at the chamber but personally as well. She is someone I am proud to call a friend.
