Test results of Worcester-based Mass MegaWatts Wind Power Inc.’s wind turbine system show that wind velocities can be increased 50 to 70 percent using the company’s system.
The company’s turbine is being tested in Hunter, N.Y. and after the first month of operations wind velocities have averaged about a 70 percent increase, according to the company.
The system allows for greater efficiencies when transferring wind into power, according to the company.
