Jonathan C. Oglebay has worked for Hometown Bank of Oxford for the past eight years, rising from senior accountant and controller to assistant vice president. Now, he's been chosen to fill the newly created position of CFO.

Q. How are you settling in at your new office?
A. I am enjoying my new job tremendously although it is a lot of work. Because the bank has never had a CFO before, the position is growing as I become more comfortable in the position.
Q. What challenges do you see in your new position?
A. Continuing to grow the bank while maintaining profitability and continuing to provide all of the products and services that our customers need. We strive to maintain the highest level of customer service while continuing to be one of the most profitable banks of our size in the state.
Q. What's your favorite thing about Central Massachusetts?
A. The diversity of activities available close by -- from museums to live theater, sporting events to hiking trails, there is something for everyone.
Q. How close is this to what you imagined in high school you'd end up doing?
A. Not close at all. I was sure I was going to end up being a professional hockey player and if that didn't work out I was going to law school."
Q. How far is your commute to the office?
A. Fourteen miles or about 20 minutes.
Q. Do you have any hobbies outside of work?
A. I love playing and teaching my boys how to play sports and I am a huge Disney fan as well.
Q. What's on your to-do list for the next couple of days?
A. I am finishing up our first quarter financials and preparing our monthly and quarterly reports to go to our board and our regulatory agencies.
