Maynard construction management firm JM Coull has recently completed an outdoor playscape project at the Discovery Museum in Acton that expands the museum’s outdoor activities.
The “Discovery Woods” created by JM Coull features a number of fully-accessible outdoor activities geared towards children, including a climbing net, rain garden, nest swing, bird houses and beaver lodges. The focal point is a 600-square-foot treehouse built by The Treehouse Guys of Warren, Vt.
“Discovery Woods is unlike anything else we’ve ever done,” JM Coull COO Josh Brandt said in a statement. “The transformation is pretty amazing. The Discovery Museums had a clear vision for this space well before we started, and we’re honored to help them achieve that vision.”
Discovery Woods is the second phase in a multi-phase effort to expand the museum’s indoor and outdoor footprint, according to a release from JM Coull. The next phase includes a 9,000-square-foot expansion to the existing science museum.
