Initial Jobless Claims Up 27,000

In the week ending April 18, 640,000 Americans filed claims for unemployment coverage, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
That's an increase of 27,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 613,000. The 4-week moving average was 646,750, a decrease of 4,250 from the previous week.
