Iconic Appointment For Clinton Curator

Kent dur Russell, CEO and curator of the Museum of Russian Icons in Clinton, has been elected to a three-year term on the Northampton-based Mass Humanities board of directors.

Russell previously served as executive director of the Higgins Armory Museum in Worcester from 1996 to 2007. He was also the curator of collections at the Fitchburg Museum in Fitchburg, the associate director for programs and education at the Parrish Art Museum in Southampton, N.Y., and managing director of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland Gallery in Belfast, Ireland.

Russell's career in museum management started after he graduated from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. He received a master's in art history and museum studies from City College of New York in New York.  

Russell is currently a member of the American Association of Museums Council of Regions and a former president of the New England Museum Association.
