HP Fairfield To Unveil Worcester Expansion

Maine-based HP Fairfield will unveil its Worcester expansion at an event Tuesday.

The company sells, manufactures and installs specialized work trucks and related equipment to governments and contractors across New England. It specializes in trucks used during storms, emergencies and cleanup, with Worcester Regional Airport and Logan Airport being two of its bigger customers.

John Briare, vice president of sales, said the new Route 20 location has 16,000 square feet of space and gives HP Fairfield the ability to build, install and provide support for its trucks. Its former Worcester location was a more modest 6,000 square feet and required that most work be done at New Hampshire and Maine locations. Along with the physical expansion, the employee count has jumped from one in Worcester to 10, and Briare said another 10 to 24 will likely be added over the next 18 months.

A ribbon cutting for the reopening of the Route 20 facility will be at 10 a.m. and be attended by HP Fairfield CEO Rod Winter, as well as local officials such as state Sen. Michael Moore, state Rep. Mary Keefe and Worcester City Councilor George Russell.

HP Fairfield was founded in 1951 in Skowhegan, Maine, and has six locations in New England.
