After 34 years as the CFO of Sullivan Insurance Group in Worcester, Gary Leger is calling it a career.
Leger oversaw the company’s finances as it grew into one of the largest regional independent agencies in the Northeast. William Johnson, who has served as Sullivan Insurance’s vice president of finance since 2004, was named the next CFO effective March 1, according to a Tuesday press release from the firm.
“Gary’s unwavering commitment, dedication to excellence and unrivaled work ethic as our CFO has had an immeasurable impact on our sustained growth and success,” John Andreoli, president and CEO of Sullivan Insurance Group, said in the press release. “Our entire organization is deeply thankful for his many years of service.”
Leger was a member of WBJ’s 40 under Forty Class of 2003.
Johnson earned his bachelor of arts from Assumption University in Worcester, later earning a MBA from the Isenberg School of Management at the UMass Amherst.
“Bill is a perfect fit as a member of our senior management team,” Anderoli said in the press release. “His business acumen, work ethic and team building skills will be a catalyst in taking Sullivan Group to its third generation and beyond as a leading insurance and risk management services firm.”
Founded in 1957, Sullivan Insurance has offices in Worcester, Marlborough, Needham, and Orleans.
