Marlborough medical technology company Hologic, Inc. will air a Super Bowl commercial featuring singer-songwriter and actress Mary J. Blige, the company announced Monday in a press release.
The advertisement, titled “Her Health is Her Wealth,” is part of the company’s first consumer-facing national advertising campaign, Well-Woman. The campaign aims to bring awareness to women’s health issues and to encourage women to schedule annual health visits.
"I'm a strong believer that a woman's health is her wealth, and I'm proud to participate in this important campaign that puts that message front and center on the world's biggest stage," said Blige in a press release. "I want women everywhere to know that real love means putting yourself first and prioritizing your annual screenings."
Woman-owned companies CHÉ Creative and Little Minx are behind marketing and production, respectively.
"We wanted to remind [women] that no matter how many responsibilities they navigate each day, nothing is more important than finding time to prioritize their health,” said Steve MacMillan, president and CEO of Hologic in a press release. “And we knew the best way to do that was to assemble a bold team of women to do so in an authentic and impactful way."
The advertisement will air during both the Super Bowl and the Winter Olympics on Feb. 13.
