Great Brook Valley Health Center of Worcester will move its administrative offices into the headquarters of the American Red Cross of Central Massachusetts at 2000 Century Dr. in Worcester, the two nonprofits announced today.
Great Brook Valley has signed a five-year lease for about 5,800 square feet at the Century Drive location. Great Brook Valley plans to move the offices of 25 administrative employees to the new location, freeing up space at its Tacoma Street location for direct health care services. The move will also centralize oversight of several locations that the center operates in the area, including the Framingham Community Health Center, which has two locations in Framingham.
The space at the Red Cross building has been free since a division of the national Red Cross vacated it due to recent structural changes within the organization.
The health center is making some minor renovations to the space and plans to move in on Monday, June 8.
The two groups said the move will help them to work together in new ways. The Red Cross offers services to respond to disasters and improve safety and health. The health center provides medical, dental, mental health and social services to low-income and other disadvantaged local residents.
