The Federation of Exchange Accommodators has appointed Timothy G. Halligan, president of Exchange Authority LLC in Leominster, as vice president for the Northeast Region.
Exchange accommodators help businesses use a provision of the federal tax code to defer taxes on capital gains.
In his new position, Halligan will work to increase membership in the region, help members build their professional skills and keep them informed about state regulatory issues.
Halligan has worked for Exchange Authority since 1999. It was recently acquired by Fidelity Bank, which moved the company’s offices from its previous home in Pepperell.
