The average price of gasoline in Massachusetts is down one cent per gallon of regular unleaded, according to a Monday report from the travel association AAA Northeast.

Down from last week, the average price for gas is $2.07 per gallon of regular unleaded. It is 49 cents lower than than a year ago, which was $2.56 per gallon of regular unleaded and four cents cheaper than the current national average which is $2.11 per gallon.

“As some states increase travel restrictions and others roll back reopening processes, demand is positioned to weaken, though not likely drop as low as we saw in March and April,” said Mary Maguire, spokesperson AAA Northeast “That translates to a continuation of cheaper gas prices at the pump.”
