Framingham State University is freezing its undergraduate tuition, fees, and standard housing rates for a second consecutive academic year in an effort to provide relief during the coronavirus pandemic.
Tuition and fees are frozen for 2022-2023 at $11,380 per year, the same as last year’s tuition, when FSU froze fees for the first time in light of COVID-19, according to a Tuesday press release from the school announcing the freeze.
Framingham State also increased support for student financial aid by more than $1 million over the past two years since the tuition freeze was first announced. The school has asked departments to tighten budgets in order to offset deficits created by the fixed tuition, according to the press release.
“The pandemic continues to place a burden on so many of our students and families,” said Framingham State President Javier Cevallos in a statement. “With the support of our Board of Trustees, I’m happy to say that we are fully committed to keeping the price of attending Framingham State University flat once again for the upcoming academic year.”
In 2021, Fitchburg State University, Worcester State University, Quinsigamond Community College, and the University of Massachusetts system also froze tuition rates.
