Framingham MBTA diner to close permanently, available for lease

Photo/Google The Deluxe Depot Diner owners announced earlier this summer that they would temporarily close the restaurant and reopen it this fall. But they since decided they would not reopen.

The former Deluxe Depot Diner at the Framingham MBTA station is now available for lease.

The eatery in the H.H. Richardson-designed train station at 417 Waverly St. is just a few hundred feet from the platform where riders board trains on the Framingham/Worcester commuter rail line.

Metrowest Commercial Real Estate announced the availability of the space on Thursday. The space has 270 seats and a bar.

“Due to the significant investments made by the owners, this building is in tremendous shape," Cheryl Tully Stoll of Metrowest Commercial Real Estate said in a statement. "The exterior has been refurbished and the work done on the interior of the building is beautiful and retro designed. We are excited to bring a turnkey opportunity to the market, for a diner or restaurant operator. The location is next to a busy commuter rail station in a rapidly rejuvenating neighborhood."
