First-time jobless claims decrease

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, 317,000 Americans filed for unemployment insurance benefits for the first time during the week ended Nov. 3.

That's a decrease of 13,000 from the previous week. The 4-week moving average was 329,750, an increase of 2,000 from the previous week.

The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 1.9 percent for the week ended Oct. 27, unchanged from the prior week.
