As 2008 draws to a close, most of our time is focused on planning for the unpredictable year ahead. But in an homage to the businesses that have helped us get to where we are today, the Worcester Business Journal decided to take a moment to look back.
Here you’ll find a photo slideshow featuring some of the faded business signs that are part of the wallpaper of Central Massachusetts. Many are hiding in plain sight in our region’s largest cities. And while we all pass them by during our daily routines, we often don’t know the story behind the signs.
WBJ Staff Writer Eileen Kennedy hit the roads of Central Mass. to document those signs and find out a little history on the companies — some of which are out of business, some of which are still operating today.
Let us know of any other “faded signs” you think we should add to our online collection by e-mailing editorial@wbjournal.com.
