Two top executives at Marlborough biofuel startup Qteros have left the business, according to company sources.
John McCarthy, president and CEO and Sue Hager, vice president of corporate communications and government affairs, have both left the company, according to Jason Matlof of Battery Ventures in California, who sits on the company’s board of directors.
Mick Sawka has been named by the board as the company’s CEO.
Sawka said along with McCarthy stepping down as CEO, the company went through some “reductions in staff,” but he said the executive team is still confident in the company’s future.
“The company remains very confident that we have one of the best economic solutions and processes for producing cellulosic ethanol so we are going to continue to develop that process,” he said.
