The Edge at Union Station sold for $27M

The Boston-based real estate firm that owns the 550-unit The Grid District apartment complex in Worcester is expanding its presence in the city with a $27-million purchase.

MG2 Group purchased The Edge at Union Station, an 81-unit residential building, in a deal finalized on April 1, according to Worcester District Registry of Deeds records.

The building was purchased from Grafton Acquisitions, an entity managed by Robert Shaffer of Pennsylvania, which purchased the property for $3.15 million in 2015.

The eight-story structure formerly known as the Osgood Bradley Building was converted into apartments in 2016. It contains 17 one-bedroom apartments, 11 two-bedroom apartments, and 53 four-bedroom apartments, according to real estate data firm CoStar. The building also includes street-level retail space.

On-site amenities include a fitness center, gaming room, and in-unit washers and dryers, according to the building’s website. Rent prices for the building range from $1,800 for a one-bedroom apartment to $4,800 for a four-bedroom unit.
