Cornerstone Bank of Worcester plans to expand its footprint in the city with the $2.1-million purchase of a former Santander Bank branch in Worcester’s Tatnuck Square.
The location at 1125 Pleasant St. will be renovated and will include an ATM and interactive teller machine. The bank expects to open the location in 2024, according to a company spokesperson.
The bank bought the property from Clarkson Giffon Realty Corp. of Worcester in a transaction recorded on Aug. 17 by the Worcester District Registry of Deeds.Â
Santander Bank closed the branch in June. Santander’s U.S. headquarters is in Boston.
