Consumer Prices Fall 1.9%

The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers decreased by 1.9 percent in November, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.

November’s index score of 212.4 was 1.1 percent higher than in November 2007.

With a nearly 30 percent drop in the price of gasoline leading the way, the department’s energy index fell 17.0 percent in November. The decrease was about twice the October decline and energy prices are now 32.4 percent below their July peak.
