Hillary Clinton's campaign on Friday plans to open its general election campaign office in downtown Boston, a day before rival Donald Trump's campaign opens its new campaign office in Hudson.
According to the Clinton campaign, its 11 Beacon Street office -- just down the street from the State House -- will open at 6 p.m. Friday and "will serve as a hub for organizing activity in Boston to help elect Hillary Clinton and Democrats up and down the ballot in November," with Democrats and volunteers hosting phone banks, organizing meetings, and canvasses from the office as well as from supporters' homes.
Trump's campaign plans to open the candidate's Massachusetts headquarters at 45 Main St. in Hudson on Saturday. Talk radio host Howie Carr is scheduled to be on hand for the 1:30 p.m. opening, according to campaign release sent by Trump backer Vincent DeVito. The Hudson office will serve as a base for get-out-the-vote efforts, according to DeVito, Saturday's event will include training for volunteers and the dissemination of lawn signs and bumper stickers.
