The Imago School in Maynard purchased for $1.7 million the building it had been leasing for more than 25 years.
“Over the years we have longed deeply for a permanent place for Imago: a place that we could call home, one that we could fully shape for our purposes, one that would allow us to grow our mission. By God’s grace, we now have the opportunity to purchase our current school building and finally put down roots in the town that has become home for our school,” reads a fundraising statement on the school’s website.
The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Boston completed the sale of the property on March 31, according to the Middlesex South Registry of Deeds. The building is the former home of Saint Bridget School.
The Imago School plans on renovating the school. The school is a classical school for grades pre-kindergarten through 8th, rooted in the Christian tradition of classical education, according to the website.
