CEO Preparedness Course Graduates First Class

The Massachusetts Health Leadership College has graduated its first class of fellows keen to become the next generation of health care CEOs.

Among the 13 graduates were Barbara S. Fisher, a vice president at UMass Memorial Medical Center, Patricia Webb, a senior vice president at UMass Memorial Health Care and James A. Mullen Jr., a senior vice president at Heywood Hospital in Gardner.

The nine-month program is the result of a partnership between the Massachusetts Hospital Association, senior executive recruiting firm Russell Reynolds Associates and coaching and training firm the Lore International Institute.

The program was founded last year and consists of a series of workshops and lectures designed to prepare potential chief executives for that role by developing self awareness and leadership ability. Classes are held at the MHA's Burlington office.
