CEO buys Saltus Press

Karl Wohler, president and CEO of Saltus Press in Worcester, has bought the company from the Saltus family.

Wohler has been president and CEO of the commercial printing company since January 2006. He said Saltus would continue to be a private company. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Freeman Saltus started the company in 1906.

Saltus employs 160, and has sales of $19 million, the company said. Wohler has "an aggressive plan for growth," the company said, and plans to hire between 30 and 40 people during the next 12 months.

Saltus offers cold-web, sheet fed and digital printing, as well as foil stamping, bindery, finishing, mailing and distribution services.

The sale of the company included Overly Publications, a division that customizes office products and makes print gifts for the collegiate and business markets.
