Under a renewed agreement, Caliper Life Sciences Inc. of Hopkinton will provide microfluidics chips to California-based Agilent Technologies for the next seven years.
Caliper is Agilent’s exclusive provider of the chips, which it uses as part of one of its scientific analysis devices. Agilent is also Caliper’s largest customer.
Microfluidics are used in scientific sample analysis and preparation, particularly in gene sequencing.
Financial terms of the Caliper, Agilent agreement were not disclosed. The two companies have operated under the agreement for more than 10 years.
