A new 50-seat cafe and eatery is now open in the Westboro Executive Park.
Cafe 9, as it is called, was built by renovating two empty office suites into a 5,000-square-foot cafe, according to a press release Tuesday from Waltham construction firm Vantage Builders, Inc. It has a kitchen area, serving space and a sit-down section with a gas fireplace. The cafe is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and serves breakfast, lunch and snacks.
The space, which was designed by Canton architecture firm Walsh/Cochis Associates, Inc., has a new glass-door entryway, custom mill work and quartz counters as well as state-of-the-art lighting displaying a photography exhibit from Delilah Knisley, a graduate of the Rivers School in Weston.
As part of the construction project, Vantage installed two new HVAC systems to enable separate temperature controls for the different requirements of the dining section and the kitchen. A new 2,000-gallon grease trap was installed outside the building, and underground plumbing connects a new sanitary line to the park’s existing system. Fire protection sprinkler heads were reconfigured.
