Natick-based Boston Scientific Corp. has signed a one-year contract to supply the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs with pacemakers and defibrillators.
The contract carries renewal options for up to four years.
BSX said it has “made substantial improvements to our quality and reliability systems” over the past two years. Patient enrollment at VA medical centers increased from 4.8 million in 2000 to 8 million last year and is expected to continue growing.
The company will supply the VA with its Altrua family of pacemakers and its Teligen implantable defibrillator.
