Natick-based Boston Scientific Corp. is launching a new app for the iPad designed to help doctors educate patients about cardiovascular disease and treatments.
The app uses a graphical presentation to explain heart function and cardiac conditions, and it lets physicians customize and annotate the illustrations to explain patients’ individual situations and possible treatments.
Doctors can also email customized illustrations to patients, caregivers or other health care providers.
