After more than 100 years of calling Framingham home, Avery Dennison Retail Branding and Information Solutions has moved its headquarters next door to Westborough, the company announced.
In a statement, the company said its move to a 20,000-square-foot space at 1700 W. Park Drive will “provide the company’s increasingly global and mobile workforce with a more intelligent, creative and sustainable environment specifically designed to elevate its productivity and resourcefulness.”
Once the powerhouse company in town, then known as Dennison Manufacturing, the facility’s complex and presence have dwindled over the past couple decades following the company’s merger with Avery International Corp. Manufacturing stopped after the merger, but Avery Dennison has maintained a presence of 100 employees in Framingham offices.
“Our new facility, with its connected working environments, flexible workspaces and state-of-the-art, sustainable technology, fosters an environment of collaboration and creativity while being conducive to hosting an array of employees from around the world,” said Shawn Neville, president of Avery Dennison RBIS.
Avery Dennison RBIS is a division of Pasadena, Calif.-based labeling and packaging company Avery Dennison. It has operations in 115 locations across 50 countries and provides creative services, packaging and tags and labels for apparel.
In the statement, the company said it’s excited for the move to Westborough, but expressed appreciation to Framingham for hosting the company throughout its history, going back to the launch of Dennison Manufacturing in 1898.
