Auburn Firm To Provide State Security

The state has named Auburn-based American Alarm & Communications Inc. an approved provider of security technology to the commonwealth.

The three-year designation allows American Alarm to provide video surveillance, access control, intrusion protection, alarm monitoring and other security systems to the state.

American Alarm's security systems are already installed in a number of public schools, state and municipal government offices.

Under the approved provider designation, municipalities, state schools and nonprofit organizations get preferred pricing on security services.

Under a previous state contract, American Alarm provided security systems for all branches of the state Registry of Motor Vehicles, the state Medical Examiner's Office, the state Firefighters Academy in Stow and other state facilities.

American Alarm has about 140 employees.
