Ashland town meeting to discuss developing more low-income housing

Ashland will hold a public forum tonight as the town gathers public input on zoning regarding low- and moderate-income housing.

The meeting, set to take place via Zoom from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, is being held to discuss an inclusionary bylaw to require a certain number of units in new housing developments to be set aside for low-and moderate-income households, according to the city.

The update to the town’s Housing Production Plan would “further increase housing diversity, affordability, and opportunity in town,” according to the town’s website.

This will be the second forum on the proposed policy, with a video of the previous session available online. More information on the Housing Production Plan process or inclusionary zoning is available by contacting the town planner.
