April Import Prices Increase

The U.S. Import Price Index increased 1.8 percent in April, according to the U.S. Department of Labor .

For the second consecutive month, higher prices for both petroleum and non-petroleum imports contributed to the increase.
April’s rise followed a 2.9 percent increase in March. Export prices also increased in April, rising 0.3 percent after advancing at least 1 percent in each of the previous three months.
