Americans Planning Trips

U.S. residents are slightly more likely to be planning a vacation this summer than last, but Americans are worried about the rising price of gas, according to travel website TripAdvisor.

The company surveyed more than 2,000 people in the U.S., and found that 86 percent are planning leisure trips this summer, compared with 83 percent who said they traveled last summer.

Still, 39 percent said gas prices are affecting their summer plans. Eighteen percent said they’ll be taking fewer trips by car, 12 percent will drive shorter distances and five percent won’t travel at all, thanks to the price of fuel.
