Acquisition For Sturbridge Endoscope Maker
Optim LLC., a Sturbridge manufacturer of endoscopes and other imaging technology, has acquired the assets of Precision Endoscopic Technologies LLC.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Precision will operate as a division of Optim at the company's headquarters at 64 Technology Park Road in Sturbridge.
Precision makes an infrared system to treat hemorrhoids, allowing for a quick treatment using existing gastro-intestinal, or GI, endoscopes.
The inventor of the Precision technology, Michael Epstein of Annapolis, Md., will be medical director of the new division, leading the development of new products and new applications for the technology.
Precision was formerly known as MAX Endoscopy and was based in Mentor, Ohio.
