Worcester nonprofit African Community Education made public its $11 million fundraising campaign, which will be used to finance renovation of the organization’s new community center.
ACE purchased the property at 51 Gage Street in Worcester in 2022 for $1.8 million, and moved its operations in at the start of 2023. The organization serves the Worcester population of African-born immigrants, estimated at 20,000 people.
The funds from the campaign will be used to accelerate expansion or services, programming, and ensure long term-sustainability at ACE, according to a Friday press release from the organization. Â
The nonprofit has already raised nearly $8 million towards its goal, including a $3 million earmark in the federal budget, according to the press release.
ACE had an annual revenue of $4,487,040 in 2022, according to GuideStar.Â
