Accolades & Honors: Dec. 10

John Zawacki of UMass Memorial Medical Center received The Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare Compassionate Caregiver Award. Dr. Zawacki is a gastroenterologist at UMass Memorial and a professor of medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Westborough-based residential energy services firm Conservation Services Group earned five awards for its new corporate logo. The company won the Communicator Award from the International Academy of Visual Arts; the Hermes Creative Award from the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals; the Gold Award from Summit Creative Awards; and the Award of Excellence from APEX Awards. In 2011, CSG received a gold award for its logo from MarCom International. Worcester Business Development Corp. won the Community Spirit Award from Preservation Massachusetts, which honors local groups that have dedicated themselves to preserving their community's heritage.

Commerce Bank won a Harvester Award from the Worcester County Food Bank, in recognition of the bank's partnership with the charity.

Partridge Snow & Hahn, with offices in MetroWest, was named a Best Law Firm in trust and estates law by U.S. News Media Group and Best Lawyers.

Deborah VanDyke of Spencer was given the Linda Duesel Support Professional Award from her employer, Sturbridge-based Rehabilitative Resources Inc. She works as a direct support professional at an RRI residence in Dudley.

Sue Schlotterbeck, director of cultural and language services at the Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center in Worcester, received the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Commissioner's Leadership Award. Schlotterbeck is a resident of Holliston.

Diana Lados, associate professor of mechanical engineering and director of Worcester Polytechnic Institute's integrative materials design center, received the Silver Medal of the Society from ASM International, the materials information society. Lados studies fatigue, fatigue crack growth, creep, and fracture in metals, as well as the design and optimization of materials and processes for failure prevention and increased reliability and sustainability in automotive, aerospace, marine and military applications. She has been a full-time faculty member at WPI since 2006.

Durable Technologies of Worcester, a marking and identification solutions firm, has been named Gold Manufacturer of the Year by Marking Industry Magazine. The company manufactures and supplies custom-designed marking tools and systems that allow companies to permanently identify just about any type of part made from most any material.
