Framingham-based MutualOne Bank has been given Preferred Lender status by the U.S. Small Business Administration. To achieve the designation, lenders must have a successful, high-volume SBA performance history, among other factors.
North Brookfield Savings Bank was also given Preferred Lender status by the SBA. Representatives visited the bank's business center to present the program certificate.
Jaime Brown of Foster Appraisal and Consulting Co. of Leominster achieved MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute. He joined the firm in 2008 and specializes in multi-family, commercial and industrial property.
Tufts Health Plan, with offices in Worcester, earned the J.D. Power award for “highest member satisfaction among commercial health plans in New England.” According to J.D. Power's study, Tufts Health Plan scored higher than the national average, 681 points on a 1,000-point scale.
Kristin Boudreau, a scholar of American literature and head of the humanities and arts department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, was awarded the Paris Fletcher Distinguished Professorship. Boudreau joined the faculty in 2009.
The Training Associates, based in Westborough, was named a “Top 20 Training Outsourcing Company” by TrainingIndustry.com for the sixth year in a row. Part of the award criteria includes the company's ability to deliver multiple types of services.
John Smithhisler — former CEO of Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester — was given a special night of recognition by Pernet Family Health Service in Worcester for issuing a $10,000 grant challenge to raise money for the organization, which serves low-income families with such services as food assistance and health care.
Marianne Hosford, Diane Jarnagan, Sandra LaMay, Deborah Clark, Cindy Fountain, Lucille Newton, Kimberly Fritze and Jessica Johnson were honored by SpencerBANK at its Length of Service Awards Dinner. Clark and Fountain have been with the bank for 25 years.
