Leadership Giving Officer, College of the Holy Cross, Worcester
Birthplace: Boston
Residence: Natick
High school: Winchester High School
Colleges and degrees earned: B.A., Holy Cross; MBA, University of California, Irvine
Career highlights: Receiving a promotion to work closely with Holy Cross donors to secure major gifts to the college toward financial aid and other educational opportunities; earning a Fulbright scholarship to teach English to high school students in Austria.
Community involvement: Ran the Boston Marathon this year as a charity runner for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Ultimate career goal: To be a leader in my industry, to connect people with a cause, and to remain kind and approachable.
Non-relative you admire most: My dear friend from business school, and resident of Yorba Linda, Calif., Lisa Sanchez Gonchar. She is a mother of two, soon to be three. Her first born, Jacoby, is nearly 4. He has cerebral palsy. She is as strong a person as they come.
Favorite book: “Romeo and Juliet.” With my children, it’s “Everywhere Babies,” by Susan Meyers
Hidden talents: I love to sing (nowadays just at weddings and funerals), I can beat box (aka, percussion with my voice), a skill I learned while singing a capella at Holy Cross, and it takes me no time to write poems that rhyme.
“By the time I turn 50, I’d like to have accomplished … giving our children a wonderful childhood, and traveling the world with my husband.”
