Attorney in Trusts & Estates, Mirick O’Connell, Worcester
Birthplace: Scranton, Pa.
Residence: Shrewsbury
High school: Scranton Preparatory School
Colleges and degrees earned: Bachelor’s degree, Saint Joseph’s University, Philadelphia; J.D., Suffolk University Law School
Career highlights: Working in the field of trust & estates and elder law, every client, family, strategy and ultimate goal is different. A number of matters that I work on involve emotional issues for clients. Assisting clients through these trying times is incredibly rewarding.
Community involvement: I serve as a corporator of The Greater Worcester Community Foundation, and am a volunteer at the Nativity School and on its board of trustee associates. I also sit on the Shrewsbury Conservation Commission, and am an active member of the Worcester Young Businessmen’s Association.
Ultimate career goal: To become managing partner at Mirick O’Connell.
Non-relative you admire most: Anthony Bourdain, who has the coolest job — traveling the world and eating the best food on the planet.
Favorite book: Lately, most of my leisure reading is with my 3-year-old, Liam. Our current favorite is “Where the Wild Things Are,” by Maurice Sendak.
Hidden talents: I really enjoy cooking and have been told that I make a mean Bolognese sauce.
“By the time I turn 50, I’d like to have accomplished … leadership in the field of estate planning and elder law.”
