Broker/Owner, RE/MAX American Dream
Company location: Whitinsville
Residence: Harrisville, R.I.
Age: 32
Career highlights: I started in real estate sales in 2000. At the time, I was a stay-at-home mom looking for a way to have a career as well as balance the demands of a family. In 2005, I opened RE/MAX Amer-ican Dream in Uxbridge. In 2007, my office, which was located in the Bernat Mill, burned to the ground. We then reopened in Whitinsville. In June 2010, I opened our second office in Woonsocket, R.I.
Community involvement: Charity is my passion. I have fostered several dogs and taking them from a dark place and watching them transform into trusting souls is truly amazing. It started out as me giving back, but I quickly learned that they were giving me so much more then I could ever give them.
Biggest success: My biggest success professionally has been finding balance. I am a mom of three. My children are 12, 8 and 6. When I opened my first office they were 7, 3 and 1. I have since stayed on my professional path while bringing my children to and from school every day, doing homework, being home for dinner and NEVER missing a hockey game!
Biggest challenge: My biggest challenge has without question been the Bernat Mill fire. My office, which was a second home to me, was gone. The office had only been open two years and this was a major setback. I had no idea then it would affect my life to this day. I have fought with everything I have to survive and thrive.
Mentors: My mentor has been my mother, Sheila, who also happens to be my business partner. The last few years for her and I have taken our relationship to a different level. She has shown me every day that you just get up and fight. You work as hard as you can with everything that you have. She has always put me first, always. She has taught me to always have blind faith.
