Director of Application Services, Fallon Clinic
Company location: Worcester
Residence: Auburn
Age: 36
Career highlights: I am currently the director of application systems for Fallon Clinic. I supervise a team of just over 20 talented individuals that support all software applications used at Fallon Clinic throughout Central Massachusetts. I started as an application developer back in November 2003 and through my hard work and determination I quickly gained recognition as one of the leaders in Fallon Clinic. Prior to Fallon I developed my technology and leadership skills while working for banking, content management, and health-care software companies.
Community involvement: I enjoy working with the youth of Central Massachusetts and was fortunate to be part of Junior Achievements before the Worcester office closed. I’m involved with many of the fundraisers for Fallon Clinic’s charitable arm, The Fallon Clinic Foundation. I also like to volunteer my time coaching Auburn Youth Sports.
Biggest success: One of my and Fallon Clinic’s biggest successes in the past couple years has been implementing electronic medical records.
Biggest challenge: One of my biggest challenges is implementing new technology in a health-care industry that has been behind compared to others such as banking. I was able to use my development experience from other industries to architect a state-of-the-art integration engine that supports Fallon Clinic and the transmission of data with area hospitals, health-care partners and insurance companies in Massachusetts.
Mentors: My mentor was Edward Nazzaro our former CIO and COO who recently left Fallon Clinic to join another health-care organization. Ed showed me how to be exceptional leader. He saw the potential I had and helped me become the leader I am today. I hope to follow in his footsteps and become a CIO of a health-care organization someday.
